Preschool Teacher Intervention Specialist

The Highland County Board of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a full time Pre-K Teacher Intervention Specialist for their preschool program at the Hills and Dales Preschool for the 2022-2023 current school year beginning August 15, 2022.

Qualified Preschool Teacher/Intervention Specialist candidates must meet Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Operating Standards for the Education of Children with Disabilities licensing requirements. A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is required. In addition, the Preschool Teacher/Intervention Specialist must have one of the following credentials: 1) a valid intervention specialist license or education of the handicapped certificate with an endorsement in pre-kindergarten special needs or early education of the handicapped; or 2) a valid pre-kindergarten certificate or endorsement or an early childhood license with an endorsement in pre-kindergarten special needs or early education of the handicapped; or 3) a valid early childhood intervention specialist or 4) a valid supplemental teaching license (or willingness to obtain one) in the area of pre-kindergarten special needs, early childhood intervention specialist, or intervention specialist in the areas of visually impaired or hearing impaired. Hours are M-F 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM through May 24, 2023.

Individual must be able to pass criminal background checks as required by the Ohio Revised Code; 180-day probation period must be completed. Help Me Grow Home Visitor Highland and Clinton County Areas

HCBDD in Hillsboro is currently hiring a Home Visitor for the Help Me Grow home visitation program in the Highland and Clinton County areas. The ideal candidate will reside in Highland or Clinton County. Responsibilities include but are not limited to home visitation, parent education of families with children in the birth to three-year population. Willingness to work from home in a home-based office setting is a must. You must also be willing to visit families participating in the program virtually and at their homes. Skills/Training: Must be eligible for credentialing under ODH rules, must attend all state mandated trainings and additional trainings as deemed appropriate by the Program Manager.

A minimum of an associate degree (bachelor’s degree preferred) in Psychology, Education, Early Childhood Education, Healthcare, Licensed Social Worker or Registered Nurse or another related field with experience in case management, ability to maintain a caseload, and meet mandates and timelines.

Early Intervention Speech and Language Pathologist


The Early Intervention team is excited about seeking a Speech Language Pathologist, SLP-CCC to join The Highland County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Within this collaborative culture; your responsibilities will be a diverse mix of assessment, evaluation, coaching and direct interaction with families and children.

Qualified Early Intervention Speech and Language Pathologist candidates must have the ability/willingness to wear a 3-ply mask covering their nose and mouth throughout the workday while interacting with others. The services are provided in homes and other natural environments via in-person and virtual visits for children ages 0-3 and families in Highland County. This is an excellent opportunity for a Speech Language Pathologist to work with children and families in the context of a dynamic team and make a difference early to promote a solid start. The schedule will be 32 hours a week with flexibility, competitive salary, and benefits. A current Ohio Speech and Hearing Professional Board license and American Speech Language Hearing Association CCC’s required, and recent pediatric care experience is preferred.
